Taking the RIBO License Course
If you’re interested in becoming an insurance broker in the province of Ontario, you’ll need to pass the RIBO (Referenced Insurance Brokers of Ontario) licence exam.PNC Learning allows you to sell general insurance such as home, auto and business insurance and offer independent advice. The RIBO licence is different than an agent licence as agents only sell products for one insurer and brokers can shop multiple companies offering the best coverage at the most competitive price.

The RIBO entry level licence is known as the RIBO 1 license and is the first step to becoming a licensed broker. This course provides you with a foundation of knowledge on insurance products and practices to allow you to advise your clients and provide service in the industry. The RIBO 1 licence is required to work as an insurance broker in the province of Ontario and you will need to be working under a licensed level 2 or higher broker for at least two years to move up to a Level 3 license which allows you to manage your own brokerage.
RIBO 1 can be taken online or in class at various locations throughout 2022. You can choose whether you would like to take the RIBO 1 licence prep course in class with our experienced instructors or online with a course that offers live guidance, practice tests and assignments, sample policies and more.
